Amy Wilson
"Listening to and understanding our inner sufferings will resolve most of the problems we encounter"
Thich Nhat Hanh
Clinical Psychologist
Amy has worked with children, adolescents and adults across both private and public hospitals and schools. She welcomes all clients 17 years and older from diverse backgrounds.
Amy has an interest in working with anxiety, depression, eating disorders, life transitions, emotion dysregulation and the LGBTQIA+ community.
Amy is undertaking her clinical endorsement registrar program at Hinterland Psychology Services. She has experience working in equine therapy utilising polyvagal theory to become more in tune with our nervous system responses and develop attunement to our window of tolerance when facing life's challenges.
Amy has an empathic, non-judgemental manner whereby building a foundation of emotional safety is paramount to her relational approach. She uses evidence based interventions such as cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT), dialectical behavioural therapy (DBT), body based somatic techniques, mindfulness and compassion focused therapy (CFT) to best support her clients to reduce psychological distress and move towards a place of health and wellness.
